Starling Marte, OF, PIT (Arm) – Left Thursday's game due to discomfort after previously undergoing treatment.
Mike Morse, OF, SF (Oblique) – Is doubtful for the upcoming weekend series against the Dodgers.
Khris Davis, OF, MIL (Forearm) – Held out of Thursday's game.
Greg Holland, RP, KC (Triceps) – Dealing with soreness and may not be available on Friday.
Danny Duffy, SP, KC (Shoulder) – Is no longer dealing with discomfort, but his status for his next start is uncertain.
Josh Hamilton, OF, LAA (Shoulder) – Will miss the next couple of games after receiving two cortisone shots.
Brock Holt, 2B, BOS (Head) – Sent to Pittsburgh on Thursday to see a concussion specialist.
Carlos Beltran, OF, NYY (Elbow) – Did not start on Thursday.
Martin Prado, 3B, NYY (Hamstring) – Did not start on Thursday.
David Peralta, OF, ARI (Back) – Will undergo an MRI on Friday.
Matt den Dekker, OF, NYM (Hand) – Did not start on Thursday.
Chad Qualls, RP, HOU (Hip) – Nagging injury may keep him out of Friday's game.
Brayan Pena, C, CIN (Illness) – Did not play on Thursday.
Craig Gentry, OF, OAK (Concussion) – Did not play on Thursday.
Pedro Villarreal, RP, CIN (Forearm) – May miss more time after taking a comebacker to the arm.
Anthony Rizzo, 1B, CHC (Back) – Is increasing activity and may return in the coming days.
Robinson Chirinos, C, TEX (Neck) – May return to the lineup on Friday.

Players on the DL/Out

Dustin Pedroia, 2B, BOS (Wrist) – Underwent successful surgery and will miss the rest of the season.
Brandon Belt, 1B, SF (Concussion) – Cleared to resume baseball activities.
Ryan Zimmerman, 3B, WAS (Hamstring) – Expected to play in an instructional league game next week.
Sean Doolittle, RP, OAK (Oblique) – Expected to come off the DL on Friday.
Stephen Vogt, C, OAK (Ankle) – May be available for the final homestand.
Jake Smolinski, OF, TEX (Foot) – Has resumed batting practice.
Alex Rios, OF, TEX (Thumb) – Expected to have sutures removed for game action this weekend.
Jimmy Rollins, SS, PHI (Hamstring) – Injury has improved, but still not ready for baseball activities.

Transactions - Players who have been demoted, called up, traded, released, you name it. We'll cover it here.

Sent Down (to Triple-A, unless otherwise noted)

Blake Wood, RP, KC
Chris Dwyer, RP, KC
Ryan Wheeler, 3B, LAA

Closer Watch

Houston Astros – Chad Qualls has been dealing with a nagging hip injury, which is likely why his numbers have been poor of late. He may miss the next few days, enabling Josh Fields to receive more save opportunities.

Los Angeles Angels – Huston Street should be available for the Angels weekend series, although they will not rush his return to make sure he's completely healthy for the playoffs.

Detroit Tigers – The Tigers bullpen situation has been a bit shaky of late, but closer Joe Nathan has settled down converting three save chances as of August 26 without giving up a run. He isn't the safest option moving forward, even with 30 saves locked down so far this season.

Recommended Pickup

Leonys Martin, OF, TEX – Martin may still be out there for you considering his rough patch of production before his current hot streak. The Rangers outfielder is 14-for-24 over his last six games (through the fifth inning of Thursday's game). During that period, Martin has one homer, four runs scored and four stolen bases and will continue to see everyday at-bats for a struggling Rangers club.

Other Recent Recommendations :Tyler Matzek, Joe Panik, Rougned Odor, Collin McHugh, Brock Holt and Adam Dunn.

Draft Kings Value Picks

SP: Vidal Nuno, ARI ($6,800)
C: Derek Norris, OAK ($3,600)
1B: Eric Hosmer, KC ($3,600)
2B: Rougned Odor, TEX ($3,400)
SS: Jean Segura, MIL ($3,100)
3B: Nick Castellanos, DET ($3,200)
OF: Carl Crawford, LAD ($3,800)
