Closer Watch

Philadelphia Phillies – It's been smooth sailing for newly appointed closer Ken Giles, as he picked up his seventh save in his seventh chance of the season after the Phillies moved Jonathan Papelbon to the Nationals in a deadline deal. Giles has had excellent success, only giving up one earned run in the process since corralling the job for the Phillies.

Tampa Bay Rays – The Rays keep shuffling their save chances around, mixing things up between Brad Boxberger and Jake McGee, but it was Boxberger's turn on Wednesday as he shut the door on the Braves. Boxberger pitched a clean ninth inning, picking up two strikeouts, while securing his 29th save of the year.

Recommended Pickup

Khris Davis, OF, Milwaukee Brewers – Last season, Davis showed a lot of promise when it came to power, but, unfortunately, this 2015 season has been hampered by injury; however, if you need a power source from free agency, Davis is an intriguing option. He's obviously prone to streaky production, but don't be surprised if Davis smacks 10-12 more home runs by season's end with a chance of even greater production. Grab Davis for the power, although don't be afraid to move on if he buries himself in an 0-for-Yuck rut.

Other Recent Recommendations:Jose Peraza, Chris Bassitt, Hector Olivera, Luis Severino, Kyle Parker, Michael Taylor and Yangervis Solarte
