2025 Fantasy Outlook
Injuries have largely derailed Manning during his MLB career and stripped him of fantasy value. The 26-year-old made only five starts for the Tigers in 2024 and missed about two months of action with a lat issue. He also spent more time with Triple-A Toledo, logging a 4.28 ERA and 1.29 WHIP across 69.1 innings for the Mud Hens. On an encouraging note, he did strike out 72 batters at the Triple-A level, which was well above his career 6.31 K/9 in the majors. Manning was once a top pitching prospect, though that luster has largely worn off. He's yet to reach even 100 innings in a season at the MLB level and could be hard pressed to do so in 2025, as he'll likely need to settle for a bullpen job with the Tigers if he's not relegated to the minors. Manning could still be a spot starter for Detroit if needed, but it's not a particularly appealing role from a fantasy perspective. Read Past Outlooks
