Daulton Varsho

Varsho missed the first month of the 2025 season while recovering from shoulder surgery and later in the year was sidelined for an additional two months with a strained hamstring. When on the field, he put together the best power season of his career, reaching 20 home runs over just 71 games while posting a .548 slugging percentage. Among 309 players with at least 250 plate appearances, Varsho ranked seventh with a .310 ISO, and he easily set a new career high with a 15.9 percent barrel rate. Unfortunately, Varsho no longer looks to be of much use in the stolen base department, as he went from 10 steals in 136 games in 2024 to just two steals in 2025 over his 71 tilts. Additionally, because he swings and misses a lot (career-high 28.4 percent strikeout rate last season) and hits the ball in the air a ton (37.5 percent flyball rate in 2025), he's among the poorest bets in the game for batting average. Varsho will have additional incentive to stay on the field in his walk year, but even if he stays healthy, the left-handed batter will often sit versus left-handed hurlers. Read Past Outlooks
