Still a shoo-in for the Hall of Fame, Trout's star has fallen considerably in recent years as a result of his various injuries. The Angels moved him to right field in 2025 in an effort to preserve his health, and the move paid off as Trout appeared in 130 games, his most since 2019. He made one trip to the injured list in May with a left knee contusion. The injuries have started to take their toll on Trout's performance in recent years, though he showed last season that he can still do plenty of damage with 26 homers in 556 plate appearances. It's a shame that the Angels have rarely put a winning team around Trout; once the best player in the game, he's in danger of ending his career in relative obscurity. The skills remain good enough to justify the risk, but most will want to take this flier far later in the draft than he has gone historically. Read Past Outlooks
