Cleavinger was the top lefty out of Tampa Bay's bullpen in 2024, which occasionally led to save chances when closer Pete Fairbanks was unavailable and as matchups dictated. The 30-year-old recorded six saves (second on the Rays) along with 15 holds, demonstrating his prowess in high-leverage. The southpaw racked up career-highs in games played (68), innings (60) and strikeouts (71), all more than he recorded from 2020 through 2023 combined. He also added a cutter and sweeper to his arsenal last season while relying far less on his sinker, which unexpectedly got crushed by opposing hitters.
