2024 Fantasy Outlook
Williams opened the season in Double-A Akron but pushed his way into Cleveland's rotation by mid-June and remained there for the rest of the season. The apex of his season was consecutive double-digit strikeout games against Toronto and Tampa Bay in early August while the only true disastrous outing was one against the Dodgers later that month. The complaint with the rookie would be walks as he had four walks in five of his 16 outings but Williams also benefited from stranding runners in those outings as none of the five were terrible outings. We could also nitpick at him only going six or more innings in 5 of his 16 outings which made it tougher for him to net wins and quality starts. Cleveland has an excellent track record of pitching development and they'll no doubt continue to mold Williams into the front half of the rotation pitcher they envision him to be.
