Flores wrapped up his time in San Francisco in decline after a hot start to the season. Flores drove in 27 runs in his first 96 plate appearances on the strength of 7 homers in the opening 25 games of the season but hit 9 homers and drove in 44 runs over the final 100 games of the season. RBIs are a skill of opportunity, and as those opportunities dried up, so did Flores's fantasy production. His bat speed has evaporated in the past two season and he is now simply a mistake hitter who knows what to do with a misplaced fastball or a hanging breaking ball. He played enough games at first so he is at least eligible there assuming a team gives him another contract but bat speed is such a strong indicator of potential and yet Flores was in the first percentile of bat speed last season and has been in the bottom fifth percentile over the past three seasons. This has minor league deal with an invite to camp and never making it out of camp written all over it. Read Past Outlooks
