Fairchild runs very well and can cover a lot of ground in the outfield, but in more than 600 career plate appearances at the major-league level, he has his .224/.308/.389 with a terrible walk to strikeout ratio. Fairchild has put up good batting averages and on-base percentages in the minors but has not hit enough to earn more than a reserve role with the Reds since joining them during a nomadic 2022 that saw him play with three clubs as he ran out of roster options. Fairchild still cannot be sent down to the minors without being exposed to waivers, but it is unlikely another club will be eager to grab a rather replaceable skill set. If Fairchild cannot show more at the plate, his days in Cincinnati are numbered. Read Past Outlooks
