Houston Astros
2025 Fantasy Outlook
After averaging 114 games per season over the first three years of his career, McCormick appeared only 94 times. An early hamstring injury and a fractured hand in September both required a visit to the IL. Be it due to him not playing at 100 percent healthy or otherwise, McCormick's production took a steep downturn, with his 66 wRC+ well below the 120-mark heading into the season. His batted ball metrics all declined, with career low in hard-hit rate, barrel rate and average exit velocity. His strikeout remained typically high while his walk rate was a personal worst, likely due to pressing. After taking advantage of the new rules to steal 10 bases in 2023, he dropped to just eight but was only caught twice. The consistency exhibited by McCormick over his first three seasons is a better indicator than an injury-riddled off year. However, a rebound still yields a back-end outfielder with a soft floor and no upside. Read Past Outlooks
