Clarke played 47 games for the Athletics last season and it seemed like he was seen in highlights in about 40 of them making a ridiculous catch in center field. Unfortunately, there wasn't much else to get excited about with Clarke, who put up a wRC+ of 75 while striking out at an untenable 38.4 percent clip. Clarke does have terrific raw power, which his 113.4 mph max exit velocity shows, but contact issues have plagued him in the minors, too, as he's fanned at a 30 percent rate in 312 games on the farm. The 25-year-old will get a chance to win the Athletics' Opening Day center fielder job, and his elite defense could give him some runway to improve offensively.
