2026 Fantasy Outlook
Clarke played 47 games for the Athletics last season and it seemed like he was seen in highlights in about 40 of them making a ridiculous catch in center field. Unfortunately, there wasn't much else to get excited about with Clarke, who put up a wRC+ of 75 while striking out at an untenable 38.4 percent clip. Clarke does have terrific raw power, which his 113.4 mph max exit velocity shows, but contact issues have plagued him in the minors, too, as he's fanned at a 30 percent rate in 312 games on the farm. The 25-year-old will get a chance to win the Athletics' Opening Day center fielder job, and his elite defense could give him some runway to improve offensively. However, he must take significant strides with his plate discipline in order to be someone fantasy managers can rely upon. Read Past Outlooks
Beginning rehab assignment
Clarke (hip) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Clarke hasn't played with the Athletics since July 20 due to a right adductor strain. It's unclear if he'll be able to make it back to the MLB lineup before Sunday's regular-season finale against the Royals. Las Vegas faces Tacoma in Game 1 of the PCL Championship on Tuesday, so Clarke will get some game action in the minors. The rookie center fielder has slashed .230/.274/.372 with three home runs, eight RBI, 18 runs scored, six stolen bases and a 6:61 BB:K across 159 big-league plate appearances this season.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
An athletic, 6-foot-5 center fielder with plus power and plus-plus speed, Clarke raised his prospect stock significantly after a mechanical adjustment in the middle of 2024. From June on, Clarke slashed .303/.369/.489 with 10 home runs, 32 steals and a 24.9 percent strikeout rate in 84 games at Double-A. He had a .580 OPS and a 40.8 percent strikeout rate in his first 38 games, so his season line is less impressive. Clarke stayed dialed in during Arizona Fall League play, slashing .382/.495/.566 with two home runs and nine steals in 19 games. His play from June through the fall has rightfully generated some excitement for his fantasy potential, but it's worth noting that the AFL is an extremely hitter-friendly environment and Clarke was 1.8 years older than the average prospect in that league. He turns 25 in May and enters 2025 with zero experience at Triple-A. His 50.5 percent groundball rate at Double-A suppressed his power output, and his swing path along with his propensity to strike out could lead to early struggles against Triple-A pitching. Given Clarke's age, he'll be held to a high standard, but if the adjustments he made last season hold, he could make his big-league debut this summer.
