Held back in extended ST
Double-A Northwest Arkansas placed Lacy on its 7-day injured list Thursday, but he's been throwing side sessions at the Royals' spring training complex and appears to be healthy, Sam Dykstra of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Considering Lacy's issues with throwing strikes and repeating his delivery over his first three professional seasons, the Royals probably want him to be dialed in before they send him off to Double-A or High-A Quad Cities for this pivotal developmental year. The fourth overall pick in 2020, Lacy has a career 7.09 ERA and 1.71 WHIP in 80 professional innings.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Lacy dominated to the tune of a 0.75 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 46:8 K:BB in 24 innings across four starts as a junior for Texas A&M and was selected fourth overall in last year's draft. He threw a few too many non-competitive pitches while trying to get whiffs on offerings nowhere near the zone, but it's hard to quibble too much with that since he was in complete control against college hitters, who hit .111 against the southpaw in his abbreviated junior season. Lacy's mid-90s fastball plays up due to deception and extension, while his newly-improved 87-90 mph slider is another borderline 70-grade pitch. A plus changeup and above-average curveball round out an exceptional four-pitch mix. A 6-foot-4, 215-pound lefty with a bevy of plus pitches and an excellent track record over his last two seasons (19 starts), Lacy has a very high ceiling, with command being the one thing to track in his first full pro season.
