2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Thomas isn't a perfect prospect, but he's big-league ready and has a chance to hit 20-plus homers with double-digit steals if he gets enough playing time as a rookie. He tallied 31 homers and 15 steals in 132 games split between Double-A and Triple-A. While his slash lines were similar and his ISO was almost identical at the two levels, Thomas' strikeout rate jumped from 18 percent at Double-A to 30.3 percent at Triple-A. His walk rate also jumped slightly from 6.5 percent to 7.3 percent, and the balls and strikes challenge system at Triple-A may have factored into both metrics going up. Given that Thomas was 23, what he did at Triple-A is more instructive for 2025 than what he did at Double-A, so don't expect him to hit north of .250. He's a quality defensive outfielder, capable of playing all three spots, and he bats right-handed, so Thomas could conceivably gain everyday playing time early this season. Read Past Outlooks
Excelling at Triple-A level
Thomas owns a .306 average and .979 OPS across 165 plate appearances over 37 games with Triple-A Las Vegas since being promoted to the affiliate June 18.
ANALYSIS
One of the organization's top prospects, Thomas is delivering on his potential. He's actually outperforming his Double-A numbers by a comfortable margin and has impressively generated 24 extra-base hits among his 44 knocks with Las Vegas. The one minor quibble with Thomas' production with the Aviators is that his stolen-base numbers are down -- he's just 2-for-5 in that department -- but his prior body of work in the minors suggests that's more of an outlier. Given his mastery over Triple-A arms, there appears to be a strong chance of an initial Thomas big-league sighting at some point before the end of the 2024 regular season.
