Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Campero is old for a prospect, as he's entering his age-27 season and made his big-league debut with 48 plate appearances in September 2024. However, he's got a little bit of power and speed and has yet to strike out more than 18 percent of the time in the upper levels. A 5-foot-6 switch hitter who used to catch but now plays the outfield corners, Campero slashed .279/.392/.472 with 14 home runs and 33 steals in 432 plate appearances split between Double-A and Triple-A, with the bulk coming at Double-A. In his cup of coffee, he was mostly putting the ball in play weakly (15.8 HardHit%) while slashing .239/.271/.348 with one home run, three steals and eight strikeouts in 13 games. He had a .215 ISO at Double-A and a .060 ISO at Triple-A, so it's unclear how real the production was at Double-A, given his age. Campero might hit enough to see stints as a semi-regular on bad teams throughout his late-20s, but he lacks the defensive utility or power potential to be a team's preferred option. Read Past Outlooks

On bench after six straight starts
Campero is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
Analysis
Campero will head to the bench after he had started in right field in each of the last six games while going 4-for-17 with a home run, three stolen bases and four RBI. With Mike Trout (illness) back in the lineup after a two-game absence and occupying the designated-hitter spot, the Angels won't have room in the starting nine for Campero while Taylor Ward, Bryce Teodosio and Jo Adell make up the Los Angeles outfield from left to right.
