Josh Taylor

In 2018, Taylor transitioned to a relief role in the minors. One season later, he spent the majority of the campaign in the big leagues, posting a 3.04 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 52 games as an important member of Boston's bullpen. The southpaw is armed with a four-seam fastball and a sinker that sit in the 94-96 mph range along with an upper-80s slider and a rarely-used curveball. While the arsenal produced only average strikeout numbers during Taylor's tenure as a starter, it has yielded much more favorable results since his move to the bullpen, and he impressed with a 31.8 K% in his rookie campaign. Taylor experienced some struggles with his control at the upper levels of the minors, but he did an adequate job of limiting walks in the majors last season, posting an 8.7 BB%. While his role moving forward is unclear, Taylor's rookie success bodes well for more high-leverage opportunities this season.
