2026 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Cardinals did not set out to have Pages lead them in starts at catcher each of the last two seasons, but that's what happened. In 2025, Willson Contreras made a full-time move to first base and Ivan Herrera spent most of the year either injured or at designated hitter, leaving Pages to shoulder the catching load. He earned a plus-6 in Statcast's Catching Runs and managed to pop 11 home runs across 389 plate appearances, but Pages' .272 on-base percentage and wRC+ of 77 wasn't pretty. The Cardinals' plan, again, is to feature others ahead of Pages at catcher in 2026, but you know what they say about best-laid plans. Read Past Outlooks
Could be odd man out at catcher
Pages could be the odd man out at catcher for the Cardinals next season, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Pages has led the team in starts behind the plate each of the last two seasons. However, the Cardinals plan to use a combination of Ivan Herrera and Jimmy Crooks at catcher next season, leaving Pages without a clear path to playing time. The 27-year-old has minor-league options remaining, but prospect Leonardo Bernal is expected to serve as the primary catcher at Triple-A Memphis in 2026. As a result, Pages could be a trade candidate this offseason.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Trade candidate this winter
Pages is a potential trade candidate this offseason, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
The Cardinals have a glut of catching depth both at the major- and minor-league levels. Pages has led the team in starts behind the plate each of the last two seasons, but Ivan Herrera and Jimmy Crooks are slated to receive the bulk of the reps at catcher in 2026. The 27-year-old Pages does have minor-league options remaining, but with prospect Leonardo Bernal pegged as the primary catcher at Triple-A Memphis, Pages could be dealt. Pages slashed .230/.272/.363 with 11 homers over 112 games in 2025 and graded out in the 87th percentile in framing, per Baseball Savant.
