2025 Fantasy Outlook
Blanco probably wouldn't have made the Astros' Opening Day rotation last year had the club not been dealing with multiple injuries to its starters. He did crack the rotation, though, and shocked everyone by tossing a no-hitter in his first start of the season. That set the stage for an impressive first full season in the big leagues for the 31-year-old, as Blanco finished fourth in baseball with a 2.80 ERA and tops in the game in holding the opposition to a .188 average. Blanco did have luck on his side, as an xERA of 3.97 and .220 BABIP can attest. That said, his slider was one of the best pitches in baseball and his changeup and curveball had a whiff rate of over 33 percent, as well. Some level of regression for Blanco in 2025 is likely, but he should be a capable fantasy starter again. Read Past Outlooks

Falls to St. Louis
Blanco (1-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Cardinals, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out one.
ANALYSIS
Blanco got off to a nice start, allowing just one hit through his first four scoreless innings. However, the Cardinals led off the fifth with back-to-back singles before Lars Nootbaar launched a three-run homer. It's been a shaky beginning to the year for Blanco -- his ERA now sits at 6.48 with a 1.68 WHIP and 17:10 K:BB through his first four starts (16.2 innings). Blanco is currently scheduled for a home matchup with the Blue Jays in his next outing.

ANALYSIS
It's a well-earned honor for the right-hander, who delivered a no-hitter in his season debut against Toronto and followed up with six scoreless innings at Texas. Blanco didn't begin the season with much hype at the back end of Houston's rotation, but he's been electric through two starts and has provided a much-needed boost to an injury-riddled staff.
