Rest-of-Season Projections
2023 Fantasy Outlook
It was a lost season for Rolison in 2022, as he first developed an issue with his pitching shoulder in spring training before eventually undergoing surgery in June. It came after he was limited to just 16 starts in 2021 because of appendicitis and later a broken bone in his throwing hand. The expectation is that Rolison will be ready for the start of the 2023 campaign, and he'll undoubtedly first head to Triple-A Albuquerque to make up for lost time. When healthy, the 25-year-old has shown the ability to throw strikes and generate plenty of swings and misses. That said, the scouting report says he's more of a pitchability guy than stuff guy, and that was before shoulder surgery. Rolison has a good shot to debut this season but fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach. Read Past Outlooks

Activated, sent to Triple-A
The Rockies reinstated Rolison (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Though Rolison still had time left in his 30-day rehab window, the southpaw didn't have a spot in the big-league rotation waiting for him, so the Rockies opted to activate him early. He'll now continue to make regular starts out of the Albuquerque rotation and work to hone his command and control after missing the entire 2022 season while recovering from surgery to repair the labrum of his left shoulder. Over his first three rehab outings between Albuquerque and Single-A Fresno, Rolison allowed nine runs on 12 hits and six walks while striking out nine in 10 innings.
