2023 Fantasy Outlook
It was a lost season for Rolison in 2022, as he first developed an issue with his pitching shoulder in spring training before eventually undergoing surgery in June. It came after he was limited to just 16 starts in 2021 because of appendicitis and later a broken bone in his throwing hand. The expectation is that Rolison will be ready for the start of the 2023 campaign, and he'll undoubtedly first head to Triple-A Albuquerque to make up for lost time. When healthy, the 25-year-old has shown the ability to throw strikes and generate plenty of swings and misses. That said, the scouting report says he's more of a pitchability guy than stuff guy, and that was before shoulder surgery. Rolison has a good shot to debut this season but fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

In consideration for promotion
Rolison (hand) could be called up when rosters expand in September, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Rolison is nearly healthy after suffering a hand fracture and could receive the chance to make his big-league debut sometime this fall. He owns a 4.38 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with a 15:3 K:BB across 12.1 frames at Triple-A Albuquerque in 2021, and with the Rockies firmly out of the playoff race, the club figures to evaluate its young talent against big-league bats down the stretch.
