Even though Cristian Javier is the likeliest candidate to take over for Jake Odorizzi in the rotation if the latter is forced to miss time, don't rule out the chance of Martinez starting during the upcoming weekend series against Texas. The right-hander is currently on the taxi squad and owns a 4.15 ERA across eight relief appearances at the Triple-A level in 2022. He's also made two MLB appearances, giving up one hit and posting a 1:4 BB:K over 2.2 innings.
