The Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics, 111-105, on Friday night at TD Garden in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Finals series. The Heat leads the series, 2-0.

The Heat (2-0) opened the game on a 9-2 run over the first 2:11 before the Celtics (0-2) sprung to life by outscoring them, 47-45, the rest of the first half. Boston then carried the momentum into the third quarter, where it erased its slim four-point halftime deficit to take an eight-point advantage into the fourth quarter. Nevertheless, the hosts would experience another late collapse, with Jayson Tatum scoring only five points during the period and Miami finishing on a 19-7 run over the final 4:57 to seal a second straight critical road victory to open the series.

Jimmy Butler led the way for the Heat with 27 points, adding eight rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks. Caleb Martin furnished 25 points, four boards, one steal and one block. Bam Adebayo generated a 22-point, 17-rebound double-double that also included nine assists. Duncan Robinson netted 15 points, while Max Strus poured in 11.

Tatum paced the Celtics with a 34-point, 13-rebound double-double that included eight assists. Jaylen Brown followed with 16 points, four rebounds and three assists. Malcolm Brogdon and Robert Williams contributed matching 13-point, two-block, one-steal efforts while recording four and three rebounds, respectively. Derrick White delivered 11 points, one rebound, one assist and two blocks.

The series now shifts to South Florida and Kaseya Center for Game 3 on Sunday night.
