Collin Murray-Boyles

20-Year-Old ForwardF
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Murray-Boyles spent two years at the University of South Carolina and experienced impressive growth between his freshman and sophomore seasons. He averaged 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game in his second year with the program while starting in each of his 32 appearances. Murray-Boyles is an interesting prospect who's yet to embrace what his best fit might be at the NBA level, though he has shown the ability to play both frontcourt positions at the college level. He doesn't have the shooting touch to be a perimeter threat as a small forward, but he compensates for that with above-average strength and an elite defensive feel for the game. On the same note, he might be a bit undersized to play as a power forward, but his instincts more than make up for his apparent lack of size, although he might still grow an inch or two as he fills out his frame. He's a smart passer who can thrive in pick-and-roll situations, and he also delivers value on defense due to a high floor and elite ceiling. It's not surprising the Raptors drafted Murray-Boyles No. 9 overall, given their history of drafting physical two-way wing players with developing shots. There should be solid reserve minutes available for the rookie since Toronto's frontcourt depth is weak, but he doesn't project as a great fantasy asset in Year 1. When on the court, he'll almost always be surrounded by multiple players who are more talented offensively. Read Past Outlooks

Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Murray-Boyles attended A.C. Flora High School in South Carolina as a high-schooler before transferring to Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah, for his senior year. He averaged 15.0 points and 8.8 rebounds per game as a senior, numbers that made him a consensus four-star recruit and a Top-100 prospect before enrolling at South Carolina. He spent two years at the University of South Carolina and experienced impressive growth between his freshman and sophomore seasons. He averaged 10.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in 28 appearances (19 starts) as a freshman, but he elevated his game to another level in his sophomore year. Murray-Boyles averaged 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game in his second year with the program while starting in each of his 32 appearances. Projecting the kind of role Murray-Boyles will have at the NBA level will be ultimately determined by the position he plays, but all signs point to him playing more as an undersized interior presence rather than a physical perimeter player. One realistic comparison could be Grant Williams, who does a good job competing in the frontcourt and even playing at center if needed based on his physicality and strength despite being notoriously undersized for the position.

July 17, 2025
Murray-Boyles totaled 20 points (8-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, four steals and two assists over 25 minutes in Thursday's 81-69 Summer League win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Murray-Boyles stood out in an otherwise sluggish offensive game, leading all scorers and finishing just one rebound shy of a double-double. The forward has shown encouraging flashes this Summer League after being selected No. 9 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft out of South Carolina.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Talked up by Barnes
FToronto Raptors
October 3, 2025
Murray-Boyles has made a strong impression on Scottie Barnes during training camp, Michael Grange of Sportsnet reported Thursday.
ANALYSIS
"Collin is super physical, super aggressive on the defensive side. You know, he's a beast, he's a monster," Barnes said. "Where he's able to get those deflections, he's going to be dangerous in transition, where he's able to show his athleticism. Because he's very athletic for his size. He's very strong. He's got a lot of great tools. His game is going to keep developing. It's only his first year, so he has a lot to learn, but he's going to keep developing and keep growing." Murray-Boyles was selected by the Raptors with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, and it sounds like he's generating plenty of hype at training camp. Frontcourt minutes will be difficult to find behind Barnes and Brandon Ingram, so it will be interesting to see how he's utilized early on this season.
