Best NBA Bets Today (Friday, Jan. 16)

Andrew Nembhard over 7.5 assists (-120) vs. New Orleans Pelicans

BetRivers, 3:30 PM CT

Alex Barutha: New Orleans remains terrible on D, giving up the second-most points (120.9) and the third-most assists (28.4) per 48 minutes across the past 10 games. In the past month, they've allowed games of 9+ assists to six players classified as guards or guard/forwards, including Tre Jones (12), Jalen Brunson (10) and Collin Gillespie (9). Nembhard has registered 6+ assists in seven straight appearances, averaging 8.4 dimes during this stretch.

Coby White under 2.5 made threes (-140) at Brooklyn Nets

FanDuel, 4:17 PM CT

Alex Barutha: White has struggled from distance this season, hitting 2.1 triples per game at 31.5 percent. I do believe he's a better shooter than that, but calf issues have limited his availability and playing time, which is likely affecting his efficiency. This is also a playstyle consideration. On defense, the Nets have allowed the fewest above-the-break three-point attempts across the past 10 games (226), which is the area of the floor that White takes most of his triples. Of White's past 57 three-point attempts, 48 of them have come from above the break.

Collin Murray-Boyles over 7.5 rebounds vs. LA Clippers (-132)

DraftKings, 9:48 AM CT

Nick Whalen: Targeting the rookie has been a trendy play of late, but for good reason, as he's joined the starting lineup and is averaging nearly 32 minutes per game over his last six. In that span, he's grabbing 9.3 boards per game and now gets a matchup against a Clippers team that — while playing at a slow pace — has one of the worst TRB% figures in the NBA of late. The offensive glass, specifically, has been an issue for the Clips, who rank dead last in opponent OREB% and 28th in OREB surrendered per game. Over his last three games alone, Murray-Boyles has pulled down 15 offensive boards.
