Best NBA Bets Today (Thursday, Jan. 15)

Cade Cunningham under 9.5 assists (-136) vs. Phoenix Suns

BetRivers, 5:02 PM CT

Alex Barutha: Cade has missed the past two games due to a wrist issue and will be making his return tonight against one of the stingiest defenses in the NBA. Over the past 10 games, Phoenix is allowing the third-fewest points (107.6) and fewest assists (22.3) per 48 minutes. And while Tobias Harris and Jalen Duren are also both expected to return, I don't like the situation of a potentially-less-than-100-percent-healthy Pistons squad jumping back into game action against the Suns.

Deandre Ayton under 9.5 rebounds (-129) vs. Charlotte Hornets

BetRivers, 4:34 PM CT

Alex Barutha: Ayton is coming off an 18-rebound game against the Hawks -- who have been one of the worst rebounding teams lately -- and a 13-rebound effort against the Kings in a game the Lakers somehow lost. In his prior 32 appearances of the season, Ayton has averaged 8.3 rebounds. I'm not ready to declare him suddenly a great rebounder. Notably, the Hornets have quietly been one of the best rebounding teams in the NBA, allowing a league-low 37.3 boards per 48 minutes over the past 10.
