Best NBA Bets Today (Wednesday, Jan. 14)
Tyrese Maxey over 3.5 made threes (+122) vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
FanDuel, 2:07 PM CT
Alex Barutha: Maxey continues to fire away from deep, and he's made multiple threes in 10 straight games, averaging 4.0 makes on 46% during this stretch. That will cool off eventually, but Cleveland has really struggled to guard the perimeter lately. They've allowed the most opponent made threes per 48 minutes across the past 10 games (16.1). This is a situation where you're getting some pretty good value at +122.
Scottie Barnes over 29.5 points + rebounds at Indiana Pacers (-117)
DraftKings, 3:58 PM CT
Nick Whalen: This number comes in right around Barnes' moving 10-game average, but the over is more of a matchup play for me. The Pacers rank 29th in TRB% over the last 10 games and 23rd in defense over that sample. It should also be a pace-up spot for Toronto, which may be without Immanuel Quickley and Sandro Mamukelashvili in addition to Jakob Poeltl.
Matas Buzelis over 2.5 made threes (+143) vs. Utah Jazz
Caesars, 2:24 PM CT
Alex Barutha: As a result of teammate injuries, Buzelis has upped his three-point volume. He's taken 7+ triples in seven of the past eight games, making 2.4 per game at 32.8% during this stretch. Facing Utah is a good opportunity to keep it rolling. Utah is allowing the most opponent three-point attempts per 48 minutes across the past 10 games (43.8), including the most attempts from above the break (32.8). That's where Buzelis makes his money, as he's taken 5.0 of his 6.7 three-point attempts across the past 10 games from above the break.
Egor Demin over 3.5 assists (-154) at New Orleans Pelicans
DraftKings, 1:42 PM CT
Alex Barutha: Demin's minutes and usage have been up lately. Over the past eight games, the rookie is averaging 3.8 dimes in 29.1 minutes. This is a good opportunity for him in that department, as the Pelicans are allowing 28.6 assists per 48 minutes across the past 10 games -- fifth highest in the NBA. They've also allowed games of 8+ assists to nine different guards over the past 30 days, including Tre Jones (12), Jalen Brunson (10), Collin Gillespie (9) and Jamal Murray (9).
