NBA Pick'Em Today (Tuesday, Jan. 13)
San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder: Jalen Williams over 16.5 points -- Pick6, 10:15 AM CT
Williams revealed that he's still experiencing some discomfort in his wrist following his offseason surgery, but the star forward is finding ways to remain productive even if he doesn't feel 100 percent healthy. Williams is averaging 18.7 points, 5.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 31.5 minutes per game during six January appearances, so on that note, he could be in line to surpass this proposed 16.5-point mark. Williams has surpassed that mark in four of his last five games as well, a stretch in which he's making 53.4 percent of his shots.
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Atlanta Hawks: Deandre Ayton under 15.5 points -- PrizePicks, 10:20 AM CT
Ayton might be in line to handle a bigger role on offense in a Lakers team that will be without Austin Reaves (calf), but the matchup against the Hawks is far from ideal. Ayton will have to deal with Onyeka Okongwu, who's a mobile big man and an elite rim protector, and that should limit Ayton's influence on offense. With Luka Doncic and LeBron James leading the way for the Lakers, Ayton will be limited to a secondary role even if he's coming off a 13-point, 13-rebound effort against the Kings on Monday, Jan. 12. Ayton has failed to reach the 15.5-point mark in eight of his last 10 games, a stretch in which he's averaging 10.6 points per game while shooting 59.3 percent from the floor.
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves: Myles Turner over 16.5 points + rebounds + assists -- Underdog, 10:25 AM CT
Turner is questionable for Tuesday's matchup against Minnesota due to an illness, but the big man is expected to be available and should see a sizable workload in the frontcourt. The matchup on paper isn't favorable given Minnesota's good defense, but Rudy Gobert is suspended for this game. Turner has surpassed the 16.5 P+R+A mark in five of his last seven appearances, averaging 18.5 P+R+A over that stretch. Turner had 13 points, five rebounds and four assists in his previous meeting against the Timberwolves this season on Dec. 21.
