2025 Fantasy Outlook
Stafford's 2024 closely resembled his previous year, though he fell from QB15 to QB19 in fantasy. His on-target percentage was basically the same (72.0), and his average target depth (7.7 yards) was exactly the same. His YPA dropped only slightly (from 7.6 to 7.3), though he threw four fewer TDs in one extra game. He also curtailed an early season penchant for interceptions, going from 9:7 TD:INT in the first nine games to 11:1 over his last seven. This is pretty much what Stafford is now. Stafford is fine as a second quarterback in two-QB leagues, nothing more, and there's now an added element of risk after he missed training camp with a disc injury in his back. The Rams released WR Cooper Kupp but signed Davante Adams, which perhaps will help Stafford's efficiency, and Puka Nacua is still a strong No. 1 target. Sean McVay is still around to call plays, and while he remains among the best in the league at it, he's put more emphasis on the Kyren Williams-led rushing attack and less emphasis on Stafford's arm the past couple years. Health has long been an issue for Stafford, 37, and he doesn't add rushing stats even when he's at full strength, but he at least returned to practice in mid-August after missing all of camp. RANKS
Modest numbers in Week 11 win
Stafford completed 15 of 28 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 21-19 win over the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Stafford's yardage total dipped as both pass defenses stepped up in the battle for first place in the NFC West, but he avoided mistakes and improved his TD:INT to 22:0 over the past seven starts, while the Rams picked off Sam Darnold four times. Stafford threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams in the first quarter and a six-yard touchdown pass to Colby Parkinson in the fourth quarter. The Rams will likely lean more on Stafford's arm in Week 12 against a beatable Buccaneers secondary that just allowed six total touchdowns to fellow potential MVP candidate Josh Allen.

Stafford bounced back somewhat from an injury-riddled 2022 campaign but still was only QB15 in fantasy last season. That might be his ceiling at this point, though in his last six games he averaged 20.6 fantasy points. Prorated to a full season, that would place him third among QBs. In that stretch he threw 15/3 TD/INT with 8.0 YPA, compared to 9/8 TD/INT with 7.3 YPA in his first nine games. The biggest difference was his red-zone TD rate, which jumped from an absurdly low 13.9 percent to an above-average 28.6. That likely will normalize around league average (23.5 percent) this year, but if his 71.5 percent on-target rate (23rd) doesn't improve or if he doesn't increase his 7.7 average target depth (15th), he's unlikely to be much more than a middling fantasy QB. And that's with good health, which can't be assumed for the 36-year-old, who adds nothing on the ground (65 rushing yards last year in 15 games). Stafford has a solid pair of wide receivers in Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, and No. 3 wideout Demarcus Robinson came on late last season. Running back Kyren Williams gives the Rams a balanced offense, and Sean McVay's still calling plays, so Stafford at least still has plenty of fantasy value in two-QB leagues.
