The Rams saw enough in Bennett to spend a fourth-round pick on the 25-year-old quarterback in April. A two-time national champion with a winning pedigree - 29-3 as a starter at Georgia - he boasts great reliability, good awareness in the pocket and the ability to limit turnovers (66:21 TD:INT), but he also starts his NFL career on the higher end in terms of age. He also doesn't have plus physical attributes, with a small 5-11, 190-pound frame, and will be an understudy to Matthew Stafford for at least the next few seasons barring retirement or a trade. Head coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that he's uncertain whether Bennett (illness) will remain with the Rams in 2024, saying it's "a conversation for another time," Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

Therefore, it would be surprising to see Bennett taken earlier than Day 3 of the 2023 NFL Draft.
