2024 Fantasy Outlook
It was another excellent season for the perennial MVP candidate, who finished fourth in the award voting. The addition of Damian Lillard did little to reduce Antetokounmpo's production. If anything, it actually helped his fantasy value through increased efficiency, with Antetokounmpo averaging 30.4 points per game on a career-high 61.1 percent shooting. He also dished a career-high 6.5 dimes per game. Plus, after a season of decreased defensive numbers, he got his steals average back to 1.2 and his blocks to 1.1. It should be much of the same for the two-time MVP as he enters his age-30 season. The Bucks' core is the same, though it will be interesting to see how the team adjusts with a full season of Doc Rivers. It's possible Lillard takes on some more usage as he gains comfort, but that shouldn't stop Antetokounmpo from being one of fantasy's top producers. As always, fantasy managers in category leagues need to take note of his poor free-throw shooting on high volume, but there are enough ways to work around that to make him worthy of a first-round selection. It was another MVP-caliber campaign for Antetokounmpo, who was voted to his fifth consecutive All-NBA First Team in 2022-23. The Greek Freak managed to set career highs in points (31.1) and free-throw attempts (12.3) per game. However, he took a step back defensively, matching his career lows in steals (0.8) and blocks (0.8) per contest. That, combined with his woeful free-throw percentage (64.5) resulted in Antetokounmpo finishing 37th in per-game, eight-category fantasy value. Drafting him at this stage is practically a complete concession of the free-throw category, as his negative impact is one of the worst in the NBA. But, fantasy managers willing to do that or play in points leagues should remain comfortable drafting him in the first round. A persistent knee issue has started to affect Antetokounmpo's availability, however. He hasn't played over 67 games since 2018-19, and he underwent a minor knee procedure in early July (with the expectation of being ready for this season). Still, most of his absences are maintenance-based, like many other top-level players in the Association. Getting 70 games out of anybody is starting to feel like a bonus. Ultimately, it's hard to go wrong drafting a perennial MVP candidate like Antetokounmpo in the first round, even if Damian Lillard steals some usage away during his first season in Milwaukee.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

President optimistic about him
During an interview at the Las Vegas Summer League, Bucks team president Peter Feigin gave a positive indication that Antetokounmpo isn't going anywhere.
ANALYSIS
"We kind of laugh internally, it's where we've been for 10 years," Feigin said. "Giannis loves Milwaukee, Milwaukee loves Giannis. We're in a good place. We feel great about it. It's business as usual... We're looking forward to next season." The Bucks have certainly been busy, replacing Damian Lillard with Myles Turner while re-signing Bobby Portis, Gary Trent and Kevin Porter. Given Feigin's confidence, it seems likely that Milwaukee's franchise player is going to stay put for the time being.
