2025 Fantasy Outlook
After a promising rookie season, the No. 18 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft took a significant step back last season. Jaquez played eight fewer minutes per night, which dramatically reduced all of his counting stats except for rebounds, and his efficiency suffered in all three categories. The poor performance may have been related to a few lingering injuries throughout the campaign, but either way, it was a disappointing effort given the opportunities available during Jimmy Butler's trade demand. Miami has retooled in the post-Butler era, parting ways with Duncan Robinson and Haywood Highsmith, while acquiring Norman Powell, drafting Kasparas Jakucionis and signing Simone Fontecchio. Youngsters Pelle Larsson, Keshad Johnson and Nikola Jovic are also chomping at the bit and waiting for their turn to shine. However, the offense will be led by Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo and Andrew Wiggins when everybody is healthy. Herro will miss the start of the campaign after undergoing offseason surgery on his foot, but he should make a full recovery by Thanksgiving. The 24-year-old Jaquez still has plenty of upside, evidenced by his massive outing against Washington during the regular-season finale. With the Heat's key players resting, Jaquez notched 41 points (17-25 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 10 rebounds and seven assists in 41 minutes. He's still worth a flier at the end of standard drafts, but Jaquez's fantasy floor took a massive hit during his sophomore campaign, making him a risky selection. Read Past Outlooks
Cleared to face Milwaukee
Jaquez (hip) is available for Wednesday's game against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Jaquez was upgraded from questionable to probable earlier this afternoon and, as expected, he'll suit up. The third-year wing has come off the bench in all 18 appearances this season, but he's averaging 16.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists across 30.4 minutes. Those numbers, however, could dip slightly now that Tyler Herro is healthy.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Jaquez surprised many during his rookie season, playing a larger role than expected due to injuries to other players. He started in 20 of his 75 games played, yet it could be argued that he logged typical starters' minutes on more than 20 occasions. He finished the season with averages of 11.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.9 three-pointers in 28.2 minutes per game, good enough for top-170 value. On the surface, this was an encouraging debut season, providing Jaquez with a platform from which to build. However, if the Heat are healthy come opening night, Jaquez is likely to be battling several players for minutes, including Duncan Robinson, Haywood Highsmith, Nikola Jovic and Kevin Love. Add in the fact that Miami brought in two promising rookies -- Kel'el Ware and Pelle Larsson -- and we have ourselves a logjam. While Jaquez is fine to consider with a last-round pick, managers should be prepared to move off him if his role becomes unclear.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
In midst of strong preseason
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has liked what he's seen from Jaquez in the preseason so far, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reported Saturday.
ANALYSIS
"He's such a downhill force that he's going to attract help-side defenders," Spoelstra said. "So naturally, he has to evolve and make enough plays to keep the defense honest because we need him to be aggressive." After a letdown of a sophomore campaign, Jaquez looks eager to bounce back for Miami, and there is a lot of opportunity this time around with Tyler Herro sidelined by an ankle issue to open the season. Through three exhibitions, Jaquez is averaging 11.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 24.1 minutes while shooting 52.4 percent from the field.
