Adds 15 points from bench in debut
Mamukelashvili logged 15 points (6-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists and two steals over 23 minutes in Monday's 112-108 preseason loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
After failing to catch on in Milwaukee and San Antonio, Mamukelashvili hopes to gain some traction with his new team, though he'll be fighting for time behind Jakob Poeltl with Jonathan Mogbo. Despite his size, the Seton Hall product is an apt floor-stretching center thanks to a nifty perimeter shot, a facet he showed off a bit during Monday's game. He has no fantasy value at this point, although an injury to Poeltl or Mogbo would offer him increased opportunity.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2021
Following a midseason trade from Milwaukee to San Antonio, Mamukelashvili assumed a larger role for the tanking Spurs. He played 19 games down the stretch, compiling intriguing averages of 10.8 points and 6.8 rebounds to go with 1.1 three-pointers. He scored double-digits on 11 occasions, making the most of a favorable situation. Heading into the 2023-24 campaign, Mamukelashvili is likely to see his role reduced, thanks largely to the addition of Victor Wembanyama. Along with Charles Bassey, the pair should battle it out for backup minutes. Both have an element of upside to their games, although Bassey is probably the frontrunner when it comes to being the priority off the bench. Mamukelashvili is not worth drafting but could once again have some sneaky streaming value down the stretch, should the Spurs opt to throw in the towel.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

More minutes than expected?
Mamukelashvili could see the bulk of the backup center minutes in Toronto, Michael Grange of Sportsnet reported Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
"Big man Sandro Mamukelashvili should soak up a good share of the minutes at center behind Jakob Poeltl, given he's the closest thing the Raptors have to a floor-stretching big man on the team," Grange said. If Grange is accurate, this would likely place Mamukelashvili ahead of Jonathan Mogbo on the depth chart. However, this could also be a situation in which the Raptors base their center rotation on the matchups. Either way, this is something to watch because Mamukelashvili has been a strong per-minute fantasy producer in his career.
