2025 Fantasy Outlook
Henderson's sophomore year was a mixed bag. He significantly improved his shooting efficiency and defense, and also cleaned up his turnovers. However, he saw fewer minutes per game and had decreased usage. Offensively, passing has emerged as his biggest strength. In his 26.7 minutes per game, he averaged 5.1 assists to 2.7 turnovers, plus 12.7 points and 1.6 threes on 42/35/77 shooting. Defensively, Henderson improved his steal rate and averaged 1.0 per game. There seems to be room for growth there, as he averaged nearly the same amount of deflections as Amen Thompson. During the offseason, the Blazers traded Anfernee Simons to the Celtics for Jrue Holiday. Deandre Ayton was also bought out and picked up by the Lakers. That should open up more usage and potentially more minutes for Henderson, though players like Shaedon Sharpe and Deni Avdija will also be vying for touches. There's still plenty of reason to take a chance on the No. 3 overall pick from 2023. Simply getting more minutes would be a significant boost to his fantasy value. And any meaningful improvement in his perimeter shooting could open up his offensive game entirely. However, he could miss about the first month or so of the season due to a hamstring tear. Considered week-to-week
Henderson (hamstring) has been limited to stationary shooting and dribbling and is considered week-to-week moving forward, Jason Quick of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Henderson tore his left hamstring in September and doesn't appear close to making his season debut. The third-year point guard said he has yet to progress to jumping, and he will presumably have several more steps to clear in his rehab before being cleared to resume contact drills. Until Henderson can return, Caleb Love, Rayan Rupert and Sidy Cissoko are candidates for increased minutes in the backcourt behind Jrue Holiday (calf) and Shaedon Sharpe.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Henderson really struggled at times in his rookie campaign, but there were some signs in the second half. The 2023 No. 3 overall pick was shoved into a playmaking role once Anfernee Simons got injured, leading to mixed results. While he shot below 39 percent and committed 3.4 turnovers per game, Henderson finished the season strong. He averaged 18.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.3 steals over the final 14 games. That stretch showed Henderson's potential, but it's hard to overlook that he averaged 12.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.2 threes across his first 39 games. He also did his late-season damage with most of the roster missing, as Simons, Shaedon Sharpe and Jerami Grant were notably sidelined. That means three key players will be back and taking away touches, but it's hard to know where things go from here. Henderson should be considered the primary piece to build around, but these other players will inevitably take away touches and playmaking opportunities. There aren't many second-year players with a higher upside, making Henderson one of the most enticing picks in the middle of drafts. His efficiency numbers are likely still going to be terrible for category leagues, but don't be surprised to see Henderson take a major step in Year 2.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Holiday talks him up
Jrue Holiday spoke glowingly about Henderson on Tuesday, according to Sean Highkin of The Rose Garden Report.
ANALYSIS
"Scoot is aggressive," Holiday said. "How he gets to the basket is amazing. Me being able to space the floor and shoot the three is something that will help him out. Being able to play off him and knowing that Scoot is the next one up and helping him showcase what he can do." While Holiday is the projected starter at point guard, the veteran mentioned that he intends to share the floor with Henderson at times and that he's looking forward to mentoring the young guard.
