2025 Fantasy Outlook
A rookie second-round pick, James spent four seasons at Tulane before joining Duke for a fifth and final collegiate campaign in 2024-25. He was never a prolific producer, but he's a solid all-around player and shot 41.3 percent from deep as a Blue Devil. LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Kon Knueppel and Miles Bridges should start every game they are healthy, while the center position could be a revolving door. The top backups will likely be Collin Sexton, Grant Williams, Moussa Diabate (if he's not starting), Josh Green, Spencer Dinwiddie, Nick Smith and Tidjane Salaun. That doesn't leave much room for James or fellow rookie Liam McNeeley, who was taken No. 29 overall. Read Past Outlooks
Modest showing in loss
James ended with seven points (2-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and one block in 25 minutes during Monday's 121-111 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
James has been a solid contributor in the starting lineup, standing in for LaMelo Ball (ankle). James has averaged 9.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.3 steals, 0.5 blocks and 1.8 threes made in his last four games. While Ball is questionable to play Wednesday against Milwaukee, James will likely remain in the starting lineup if the star point guard remains sidelined. However, if Ball returns from injury, James will return to the bench but will still likely play significant minutes.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Continues to impress
James has continued to impress coach Charles Lee, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reported Thursday.
ANALYSIS
"I love he's keeping it simple offensively," Lee said. "That's the biggest thing to me. I think sometimes as a young player you want to come in and you want to show everybody all these things you can do. And you have to be able to just do the things that are being asked of you in that moment. And Sion has done that" A 2025 second-round pick, James has looked like a steal thus far. Through eight regular-season contests, James has averaged 8.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.8 three-pointers on 62.2 percent shooting from the field.
