2025 Fantasy Outlook
Watford is coming off a career-best season in Brooklyn, although injuries kept him from truly hitting his stride. Across 44 regular-season appearances, Watford averaged 10.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.3 blocks and 0.7 three-pointers across 20.8 minutes per game. Overall, on a per-game basis in standard nine-category leagues, he finished outside the top 300. The 76ers signed him to a two-year, $5.3 million deal on the opening day of free agency, as they needed some frontcourt depth to offset the loss of Guerschon Yabusele. The health of Paul George (knee) and Joel Embiid (knee) remains in question, but the 76ers were able to bring back Andre Drummond. Additionally, Kelly Oubre and Justin Edwards are capable of playing as a small-ball four. Watford's path to minutes certainly isn't easy, but that could change if/when George and Embiid miss time due to injuries. But purely from an upside perspective, Watford's lack of peripheral stats really holds him back. Read Past Outlooks
Logs first triple-double of career
Watford finished Saturday's 130-120 win over the Raptors with 20 points (8-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 17 rebounds, 10 assists and one block over 37 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Watford was inserted into the 76ers' starting lineup for the first time this season, and he took full advantage of the opportunity. He led all players with career highs in both rebounds and assists en route to the first triple-double of his five-year NBA career, and he finished third on the team in points behind Tyrese Maxey (31) and Joel Embiid (29). Watford's breakout performance Saturday should keep him in the 76ers' starting lineup, at least until Paul George (knee) is cleared to make his 2025-26 debut.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2022
Watford spent the first two years of his career with the Trail Blazers, and while he featured more regularly in his sophomore year in 2023-24, his production was steady. However, in Watford's case, steady means he, once again, had minimal fantasy upside across all formats. He averaged 7.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game across 62 regular-season appearances (12 starts) in 2023-24. He was traded to the Nets before the start of the 2024-25, and although he might have more chances to play regularly in Brooklyn, he's not likely to garner a starting role any time soon. Since he'll be a backup in a rebuilding team, Watford is not expected to have a lot of upside in fantasy in most formats in 2024-25. He might be a decent streaming option in very deep leagues, but even that's a long shot and would depend heavily on his playing time.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could see bigger role
Watford might take on a bigger role for the Nets with Ben Simmons no longer on the roster, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year forward returned in late January from a hamstring strain, and in three games since Simmons suited up for the last time for Brooklyn, Watford averaged 22.0 minutes a contest, a big jump from the 16.1 minutes a game he saw prior to his injury. Watford won't challenge Cameron Johnson or Nic Claxton for a starting job in the Nets' frontcourt, but he could emerge as an important bench piece coming out of the All-Star break.
