Michigan announced Sunday that Bufkin will declare for the 2023 NBA Draft while forgoing his remaining collegiate eligibility.
ANALYSIS
The sophomore shooting guard was one of the few bright spots in a disappointing season for Michigan, as he helped fill the scoring void in the backcourt by averaging 14.0 points to go with 4.5 boards, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 three-pointers in 33.9 minutes per game in 2022-23 after averaging just 10.6 minutes per contest as a true freshman. Michigan has already reeled in Nimari Burnett through the transfer portal this offseason, and he could be the top candidate to replace Bufkin in the starting five in 2023-24.
