Three touchdowns in conference win
October 4, 2025
Finley completed 18 of 29 passes for 252 yards, three touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 28-22 victory against Central Michigan.
ANALYSIS
Finley logged arguably his most impressive game of the season in his return to the field, logging his most passing touchdowns and second-high yardage total of the year. The 6-foot-3 quarterback also led the Zips to their first conference win of the year. They'll aim to continue this momentum against Miami-Ohio this upcoming Saturday.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
After N.C. state acquired Brennan Armstrong from Virginia, the writing was on the wall for Finley, who promptly entered the transfer portal and landed at Cal. Unfortunately for Finley, the starting job is far from certain. TCJ transfer Sam Jackson is also in the fold, commencing a quarterback competition that will last throughout fall camp. The skill sets of the two quarterbacks couldn’t be more different, as Finley is more of a conventional drop-back passer. Jackson is an undersized dual-threat speedster, and accommodating both quarterbacks would certainly stretch Cal’s offensive playbook. Finley has more starting experience, as Jackson was often employed as a wildcat quarterback for TCU and little else.
