2025 Fantasy Outlook
Taylor missed the second half of the 2023 campaign due to injury, and things didn't start well, with the star back missing the opener due to a hamstring injury. Fortunately, that was the only contest Taylor missed in 2024, and he went on to log 205 carries for 986 yards and 10 touchdowns over the remaining 11 regular-season games plus the bowl game, also proving to be a weapon as a receiver with 54 grabs for 350 yards and a pair of scores. The Gophers utilized the portal to add some depth to the backfield this offseason in the form of A.J. Turner from Marshall, but the backfield should belong to Taylor until further notice. Max Brosmer was a pleasant surprise under center for Minnesota last season, but he's gone, and Drake Lindsey is a bit of a question mark as well, so it wouldn't be shocking to see a heavier lean on Taylor and the running back room. Look for Taylor to deliver a top-notch running back campaign again this year. Read Past Outlooks

Explodes against Huskers
Taylor notched 24 carries for 148 yards and one touchdown and hauled in all four targets for 16 yards during Friday's 24-6 victory versus Nebraska.
ANALYSIS
After totaling just 64 rushing yards across his last three contests while dealing with a leg injury, Taylor saw the floodgates open against Nebraska to the tune of 148 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The 6-foot running back provided multiple highlights on the day for the Golden Gophers, rattling off a 71-yard scamper in the seocnd quarter before crossing the goal line on a one-yard plunge in the third period to give Minnesota a 21-6 lead at the time. He will hope to build off this performance moving forward, with his next opportunity coming in a road matchup against Iowa on Saturday.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Taylor was poised for a massive year in his freshman season and still was a dominant force on the ground through only six games as he battled with an injury. The 6-foot running back rushed 138 times for 799 yards and five touchdowns, paving the way for Jordan Nubin to get the primary workload when Taylor was injured. As long as Taylor can stay healthy in 2024, he should be poised for the lead role in the backfield and plenty of opportunities as the Gophers' passing game remains questionable, especially as transfer quarterback Max Brosmer, the frontrunner, has not played at the FBS level yet in his career. The rushing game should be relied on heavily, and Taylor is the key to getting yardage when completing passes may be a problem.
