NFL Picks: Eagles, Jaguars, Giants, 49ers and Cardinals

This article is part of our NFL Picks series.

Pianowski paced us this week with another 10-5-1 and is in first place at 20-10-2 through two weeks. Stopa and I are tied for second at 16-14-2. We went 2-3 on unanimous picks, but are 18-12-2 collectively on majority ones.

This week, we have five more unanimous picks, the Eagles, Jaguars, Giants, 49ers and Cardinals, and a whopping three writers - everyone but Stopa and me - made the Seahawks their best bets. But the Seahawks are not a unanimous pick because I took the Cowboys.

Unanimous/Majority Picks

This week we have five more unanimous picks: the Eagles, Jaguars, Giants, 49ers and Cardinals. Last week we were 2-3 on unanimous picks, winning with the Bengals and Jaguars and losing with the Panthers, Jets and Giants, bringing our season record to 5-4-1. We went 9-6-1 on majority picks (three or more writers) to bring our season record to 18-12-2. Last year we went 23-28-4 on unanimous picks and 121-121-14 on majority picks.

EricksonThere's a lot of over-correction in these lines, at least in my eyes. Dallas looked great last week! Seattle looked terrible! Well, yeah, but the circumstances of those games were different. Now Seattle gets their first home game, Dallas has to go back out on the road, and their offense still isn't fixed. Seahawks roll.
PianowskiMaybe things will seem clearer later in the week, but right now there isn't a single game on the board I feel especially confident in. That's not necessarily predictive — some weeks the right sides jump out at you, and you go 4-12. But this felt like a random set of games to me. Maybe any week of confidence is just a false indicator.
LissI like a lot of games on this slate. I think the Chiefs are a good sell-high after two good games. I like the Jaguars laying less than seven against a bad Titans team, the Cardinals getting a massive six at home against the Bears, the Ravens at home against Case Keenum and even the Lions to shoot it out with the Pats as home dogs.
StopaMy best bet, like last week, is Over 56 points in Kansas City. We've seen fantasy carnivals before, but the #ChiefsCarnival is historic. A rocket-armed QB. A WR with generational speed. A first-round WR opposite him. An All-Pro TE. A rushing leader at RB. And an atrocious defense that ensures KC must keep scoring. I expect another game in the 60s or more before Vegas finally adjusts next week.
Del Don Maybe Seattle is now a doormat and Dallas' defense is legit, but I'm not ready to assume that quite like this line does.
