Fulton agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal with the Chiefs on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Networkreports.
ANALYSIS
Fulton rejuvenated his career in his lone year with the Chargers last season, turning into arguably one of Los Angeles' best secondary pieces. The 26-year-old parlayed the strong season into a significant deal with the Chiefs that includes $15 million guaranteed and a maximum value of $20.5 million, per Rapoport. Fulton has played as a boundary corner for virtually his entire career, but with Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson already firmly set in their spots, it's possible the new addition could be utilized all around Kansas City's secondary.

A second-round pick by the Titans back in 2020, Fulton struggled with various injuries throughout his Tennessee tenure missing 29 of 68 games. The 25-year-old signed a one-year contract with the Chargers early in the offseason presumably to start opposite Asante Samuel as one of the team's boundary corners and with few marquee options added in the ensuing months, the high-pedigreed veteran will be given every opportunity to earn that role.
The Titans have an exceptionally young secondary, particularly at cornerback. Entering his fourth season in the league, the team will be counting on Fulton to cover the opposing squad's number-one receiver. Most importantly, he'll have to remain healthy, as he's never appeared in more than 13 games in a single campaign.
Fulton remained healthy in his second professional season and was a key member of the Titans' secondary. Despite missing four games, he topped 700 defensive snaps, broke up 14 passes and chipped in two picks. Fulton will be locked into a starting outside corner role in 2022.

CBFree Agent
March 19, 2024
Fulton will meet with the Chargers on Wednesday and Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Fulton is entering free agency for the first time and appears likely to move on from the Titans despite previously showing interest in an extension. He's battled various lower-body injuries in recent seasons, though he had a standout 2021 campaign, during which he broke up 14 passes and also had two picks. A return to health and a change of scenery could help him regain that form, while the Chargers are in need of more reliable cornerbacks.
