2023 Projections
2022 Fantasy Outlook
It has been quite a rise for the 2019 fifth-round draft pick who has steadily grown into Detroit's No. 1 cornerback. Not only has Oruwariye regularly handled 100 percent of the available defensive snaps for two straight seasons, he racked up 11 pass breakups and six picks last year despite playing behind one of the least-productive defensive lines league-wide. With No. 2 overall pick Aidan Hutchinson added to the mix, the Lions' improved defensive front hopefully will wreak enough havoc for Oruwariye to take his game to another level statistically. RANKS

Disappointing 2022 campaign
Oruwariye totaled 44 tackles, three pass breakups and one fumble recovery over 14 games in 2022.
ANALYSIS
Oruwariye opened the season as a clear starter on the outside, but he became a much smaller part of the cornerback rotation after Detroit's midseason firing of its defensive backs coach. He ultimately topped 50 percent of the defensive snaps twice over the final nine games of the year while finishing it with three-year lows in practically every statistical category. Now entering the free-agent market at the end of the league year, Oruwariye may need to fight for a depth role somewhere other than Detroit in 2023.

Daniel Jones and Darren Waller should both benefit from Tuesday's developments, while the Raiders seem to be rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Heading into Week 12, Jordan Mazzara writes that Frankie Luvu has played all but two snaps over the past two weeks, a significant turnaround from the previous three weeks.
2021 Fantasy Outlook
Detroit's 2019 fifth-round pick, Oruwariye entered the 2020 campaign in the shadow of 2021 No. 3 overall pick Jeff Okudah, not to mention free-agent prize Desmond Trufant. However, as both Okudah and Trufant struggled to stay healthy, Oruwariye quietly turned into an every-down player and ultimately logged 100 percent of the defensive snaps in 10 of 16 games. While his resulting stats weren't IDP worthy and he graded much better in zone coverage than man, he figures to continue to be a large part of Detroit's plans at cornerback, even if a new coaching staff gives Quinton Dunbar the starting job at cornerback opposite Okudah.
