Has promising 2024 campaign

Echols logged 40 tackles (29 solo), three pass defenses (including two interceptions) and a recovered fumble over 16 games (four starts) during the regular season.
ANALYSIS
Echols' role fluctuated significantly throughout the campaign -- for example, he logged over 90 percent of New York's defensive snaps in four games but played exclusively on special teams in four other contests. Nonetheless, he co-led New York with two pickoffs, marking the second time in four career campaigns he's notched multiple interceptions. Echols will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and if he returns to the Jets he has an opportunity to move into a starting role, as fellow cornerback D.J. Reed is unlikely to come back.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Echols was selected in the sixth round of the 2021 draft by the Jets. A lack of established players ahead of him on the cornerback depth chart could lead to a surprisingly large role for Echols if he proves to be NFL-ready, but he'll likely start his career working mostly on special teams.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could re-sign with Jets
CBNew York Jets
February 20, 2025
Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic believes the Jets should re-sign Echols in the offseason.
ANALYSIS
With D.J. Reed likely to sign elsewhere for more money as the top cornerback in the 2025 free-agent class, the Jets will have a need on the outside opposite Sauce Gardner. Bringing back Echols would give the Jets a reliable option with 19 NFL starts under his belt, though 14 of those came in Echols' rookie season in 2021. Echols also has familiarity with the locker room, though new head coach Aaron Glenn and defensive coordinator Steve Wilks will likely implement a new system different from the one Jeff Ulbrich had been running.
