It was a nice bounce-back season for the 29-year-old after he dealt with a torn Achilles tendon and a back issue in his time with the Jets from 2021-23. Lawson failed to record a single sack across six games for New York in 2023 and didn't sign with Dallas until August of 2024 after Sam Williams tore his ACL. Lawson is scheduled to head back to free agency in March.

Lawson posted seven sacks in 2022 after missing the entire 2021 campaign due to a torn Achilles. The 28-year-old defensive end is optimistic that he can hit double-digit sacks for the first time in 2023, and he's well positioned to do so as the top edge rusher in a Jets defense that has Quinnen Williams generating interior pressure, as well as the cornerback duo of Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed taking away passing lanes. Lawson will have competition for playing time from 2022 and 2023 first-round picks Jermaine Johnson and Will McDonald, as well as the versatile John Franklin-Myers.
