2023 Fantasy Outlook
Conley signed with the 49ers to compete for a role as a backup receiver or on special teams. The speedy veteran never broke through as a starter during his time with Kansas City, Jacksonville, Houston and most recently Tennessee (appeared in seven games). With Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings and Ray-Ray McCloud firmly set as San Francisco's top four receivers, Conley could find himself on the chopping block come roster finalization. Gets elevation from practice squad
San Francisco elevated Conley from its practice squad ahead of Thursday's game versus the Giants, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ANALYSIS
With Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder) trending towards sitting out in Week 3, the 49ers saw fit to bring Conley up from their practice squad to provide depth at wide receiver. With Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey all still healthy though, Conley's path to targets is nearly nonexistent.

How does the Giants pass defense compare to other NFL teams this season?
The bars represents the team's percentile rank (based on QB Rating Against). The longer the bar, the better their pass defense is. The team and position group ratings only include players that are currently on the roster and not on injured reserve. Franchise RB Derrick Henry is joined by WR DeAndre Hopkins to form one of the more physical-imposing playmaking duos in the NFL. But can QB Ryan Tannehill make it all work behind a makeshift offensive line?

Perhaps the only question mark in a 49ers offense led by RB Christian McCaffrey, WRs Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk and TE George Kittle is quarterback. Brock Purdy will attempt to repeat his success from 2022.

Jerry Donabedian thinks the Saints are set at wide receiver for the next half decade with Rashid Shaheed joining Chris Olave to give them a pair of rookie standouts.

Jerry Donabedian thinks K.J. Osborn's impressive performance could lead to more targets over the final three weeks of the season.

Last season, Conley finished third among Houston wideouts in snaps and fourth in targets, one behind the departed Danny Amendola. The 2015 third-rounder had his targets drop substantially from 2020 to 2021 (63 to 37), well behind the career-high 90 he had in 2019 as Jacksonville's deep threat. Quarterback issues played a role in the reduction, but the Texans also had better receivers (Brandin Cooks) and higher priorities (developing Nico Collins) than Conley. With both Cooks and Collins still rostered, Conley got cut at the end of the preseason and is left looking for a new home.
