Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Onyemata is entering the final season of a three-year contract he signed ahead of the 2023 campaign. He missed three games that season but has been productive in Atlanta when healthy, totaling 95 tackles (48 solo), including 7.0 sacks, four pass defenses and two forced fumbles in 31 games. Onyemata's two highest tackle seasons have come in Atlanta, but he had a career-high 6.5 sacks with the Saints in 2020. The Falcons replaced Grady Jarrett with Morgan Fox this offseason, plus Zach Harrison and Ta'Quon Graham will return, so Onyemata's role is expected to remain the same in 2025. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Cleared for Week 15 matchup
Onyemata (foot) is active for Thursday's game against the Buccaneers, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Onyemata was limited by a foot injury throughout the week, but he was able to practice each day. That's enough for him to suit up in Week 15 against Tampa Bay, and he should play a fairly significant role along Atlanta's defensive line.

After seven years in New Orleans, Onyemata signed a three-year deal with the division-rival Falcons ahead of the 2023 campaign. Despite playing only 14 games, the second fewest of his career, Onyemata posted a career-high 50 tackles during his first season in Atlanta, adding four sacks, three pass defenses and two forced fumbles. Grady Jarrett is working his way back from a torn ACL, and the Falcons drafted Ruke Orhorhoro with the 35th overall pick in the 2024 Draft, but Onyemata still has the inside track to a starting job and consistent defensive snaps in Year 2 with Atlanta.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could hit free agency
The Falcons could decide to part ways with Onyemata this offseason, Matt Okada of NFL.com suggests.
ANALYSIS
Atlanta had only 31 sacks in 2024, the second-fewest in the league. Onyemata has never recorded more than 6.5 sacks in a season, and that career-high total came with the Saints in 2020. Over two seasons for the Falcons, the 32-year-old nose tackle has 7.0 sacks in 31 regular-season contests. Cutting Onyemata would save Atlanta $8.1 million in cap space to reinvest in its defensive line.
