Elijah Arroyo

22-Year-Old Tight EndTE
2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Seahawks hope Arroyo can overcome his lengthy history of knee injuries to make the most of his impressive physical traits. He had just 11 catches in his first three seasons at the University of Miami, with knee injuries costing him large chunks of the 2022 and 2023 campaigns, before breaking out for a 35-590-7 receiving line in 13 games last year. Arroyo then suffered another knee injury at the Senior Bowl, which prevented him from doing pre-draft testing but didn't stop Seattle from picking him 50th overall. At 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Arroyo has prototypical size and speed for a NFL tight end, making him a threat to eventually surpass both Noah Fant and AJ Barner on Seattle's depth chart. Arroyo confirmed in May that he's no longer bothered by his knee injury from the Senior Bowl, potentially setting the stage for full participation in spring practices and training camp. Arroyo said Friday that he is no longer dealing with the knee injury that limited him leading up to the NFL Draft, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The knee issue prevented Arroyo from running the 40 at either the NFL Combine or his pro day, though Seattle was able to estimate him at 4.52/4.53 based on his GPS speeds. The injury didn't deter the Seahawks from drafting the big tight end out of Miami in the second round (50th overall), however, making him the fifth tight end off the board. Arroyo has a chance to carve out a significant role in the team's offense, especially if he can have a big training camp -- while Noah Fant tallied a respectable 500 receiving yards on 48 catches during the regular season last year, he has only one touchdown reception over the past two campaigns.

Younger, faster version of Fant?
TESeattle Seahawks
May 21, 2025
Arroyo has several characteristics that have led to comparisons to the player he's trying to usurp for the Seahawks' No. 1 tight end job, Noah Fant, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie third-round pick from the University of Miami is a slightly bigger version of his veteran teammate, as Arroyo is 6-foot-5, 254 pounds while Fant is listed an inch shorter and five pounds lighter. Head coach Mike Macdonald has already highlighted what he describes as Arroyo's "extensive route tree," which includes splitting out wide and doing a convincing impersonation of an X receiver. The 16.9 yards per reception Arroyo averaged on his 35 grabs with the Hurricanes in 2024 lead all FBS tight ends, as did the 9.2 yards he averaged after the catch.
