2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Texans made a point to keep their young talent on the back end in house during the offseason. One month after making Derek Stingley the highest-paid cornerback in the game, Houston extended Pitre for another three years. Pitre has operated at three positions over his first three NFL seasons, slotting in at either safety spot and nickel corner. He finished 2024 with 65 tackles, eight passes defensed and one interception over 12 games. Pitre's season was cut short by a partially torn pectoral muscle but made a quicker recovery than anticipated and was on the field for OTAs. Read Past Outlooks
Ruled out for TNF
Coach DeMeco Ryans said Pitre (concussion) will not play in Thursday night's game against the Bills, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Pitre will miss his third straight contest due to the concussion, and the short week didn't help, as Ryans noted it wasn't enough time for Pitre to clear the protocol. Myles Bryant should again handle an expanded role in the Texans' secondary Thursday night.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Pitre is a key member of the improved Texans' culture and was impressively named a team captain in 2023 - his second pro season. While he may have a presence in the locker room, his play on the field has been less compelling and that could spell trouble as the Texans' continue to add to their roster in hopes of a making a Super Bowl run. Through two seasons, Pitre has allowed a 68.3 completion percentage against, 14.1 yards per reception and a 92.3 passer rating all while missing tackles at a 17.9 percent clip. There's no obvious replacement for him, though Houston did select Callen Bullock in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Assuming Pitre can stick on the field, the hope will be that he can return to his rookie form, when he posted 147 combined tackles with five picks.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
May not be done for season
Pitre is set to miss multiple weeks with a pectoral injury he suffered Sunday, but the safety could return late in the season or during the playoffs, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2022 second-round pick avoided a full tear of his pec, and while surgery may eventually be required on the injury, no procedure is planned as of yet. Pitre was having a strong season with 65 tackles and a career-high eight passes defended in 12 games, and the Texans are currently in first place in the AFC South and en route to securing a playoff spot, which could provide the Baylor product with additional time to recover if necessary.
