2023 Fantasy Outlook
Tryon-Shoyinka took a step forward in his sophomore 2022 campaign, posting a career-high 40 tackles and matching his rookie-season total of four sacks. The athletic linebacker also boosted his defensive snap total from 562 to 806 last year, and the valuable experience he gained with the additional reps should be beneficial as he approaches what could be a breakout in 2023. Tryon-Shoyinka has the benefit of working alongside the same group of talented linebackers - Lavonte David, Devin White and Shaquil Barrett - which may lead to his fair share of 1-on-1 matchups. Pair of sacks in Week 2 win
LBTampa Bay Buccaneers
September 18, 2023
Tryon-Shoyinka posted four tackles, including two sacks, and logged an additional quarterback hit in the Buccaneers' 27-17 win over the Bears on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The third-year edge rusher recorded the second multi-sack game of his career, with the first having come way back in Week 4 of his rookie 2021 campaign. Tryon-Shoyinka has struggled to fully live up to his first-round pedigree over his first pair of seasons, but he was expected to take a big step forward in 2023 after an impressive training camp. While his momentum didn't carry over into the regular-season opener -- Tryon-Shoyinka posted just two total tackles in that win over the Vikings -- perhaps his effort against the Bears will serve as a launch pad for a surge in production.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
The 32nd overall pick in this year's draft, Tryon's destination arguably is both a blessing and a curse with respect to his rookie season. On the one hand, the Washington product couldn't ask for a better set of mentors than Lavonte David, Jason Pierre-Paul, Devin White and Shaquil Barrett. At the same time, the presence of that quartet likely will keep Tyron from seeing the field in base packages in the fall, absent injury. Tryon opted out of last season, but he racked up eight sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss in 13 games as a sophomore in 2019. He appears to have the raw talent to develop into an IDP asset, but his situation isn't ripe for immediate production.
