This Week's Opposing Pass Defense
How does the Seahawks pass defense compare to other NFL teams this season?
The bars represents the team's percentile rank (based on QB Rating Against). The longer the bar, the better their pass defense is. The team and position group ratings only include players that are currently on the roster and not on injured reserve. The list of players in the table only includes defenders with at least 3 attempts against them.

2020
Wolford arrives in Tampa Bay with more experience than the average third-string quarterback around the league. The Wake Forest product just completed a three-year Rams tenure where he logged eight starts, including one postseason game, the same number he drew with the AAF's Arizona Hotshots in 2019. Wolford is therefore arguably a viable option for head coach Todd Bowles should Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask both falter in the top job.
The Rams re-signed Wolford to a one-year deal in April, giving him another season to work as the backup to Matthew Stafford. The undrafted Wake Forest alum has just one start over his first two years in the league and has yet to throw a touchdown in the NFL. Stafford has missed just eight games (all in 2019) due to injury since 2011, meaning Wolford may be hard pressed to find playing time in Year 3 beyond garbage time.
The third-year quarterback started Week 17 and in the wild-card round against the Seahawks. Wolford was expected to compete for the starting job with Jared Goff before the Rams dealt the latter to the Lions for Matthew Stafford. Now, Wolford is slated for backup duty. The dual threat signal-caller didn't show much fantasy promise in his limited 2020 action, so he's probably not a priority add outside of two-QB formats if Stafford is forced to miss time.
While unproven and inexperienced at the NFL level, Wolford projects to open the 2020 campaign as Los Angeles' No. 2 quarterback. The Wake Forest product went undrafted in 2018, but he played well in the now-defunct AFF before signing with the Rams in April 2019. A dual threat in college, Wolford passed for 29 touchdowns and ran in another 10 during his senior year and also posted excellent numbers in the AFF (63.1 completion percentage, 7.8 yards per attempt and a 95.9 passer rating). In four preseason appearances last year, the 24-year-old quarterback completed 25 of 44 pass attempts for 249 yards and three touchdowns. He currently has rookies Bryce Perkins and Josh Love to fend off for the backup role.

Likely headed back to Rams
QBLos Angeles Rams
October 30, 2023
Wolford is expected to be signed by the Rams off the Buccaneers' practice squad, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Matthew Stafford suffered a thumb injury in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, and if he's unable to play in Week 9 against Green Bay, the Rams will need someone to back up Brett Rypien. Wolford is familiar with Sean McVay's system, having played for Los Angeles each of the last three seasons, albeit with limited success.
