Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hill's time as Miami's No. 1 tight end lasted just a day. About 24 hours after the Dolphins traded Jonnu Smith to Pittsburgh, they acquired Darren Waller, pushing Hill back to his rotational role. Hill improved in Year 2 last season, catching 12 of 19 targets for 100 yards in his 16 regular-season appearances. He could see a light uptick in targets this season, as Waller is coming out of retirement and won't fill all of Smith's targets. Perhaps more of those go to Hill, though he's primarily a blocking tight end. Read Past Outlooks
Afterthought in receiving game
Hill was not targeted during Miami's 34-10 win over the Jets on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hill started at tight end for the Dolphins and played 51 percent of offensive snaps versus New York, but he primarily worked as a blocker. Elsewhere at the tight-end position, both Darren Waller (one catch for 13 yards on three targets) and Greg Dulcich (three catches for 41 yards on three targets) are involved as pass catchers behind Jaylen Waddle, leaving few if any targets up for grab for Hill on a weekly basis. He can be safely left off the fantasy radar heading into a road matchup against the Steelers on Monday Night Football in Week 15.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Hill is coming off an impressive rookie season, even if his 6-48-9 receiving line across 15 games was modest. Despite going undrafted out of Campbell and missing the first two games of 2023 due to an ankle injury, Hill managed to carve out a consistent weekly depth role, mostly contributing as a blocker. The addition of Jonnu Smith to join Durham Smythe atop the depth chart could mean a significant amount of those opportunities dry up for Hill, but he still profiles to handle a key reserve spot, likely as the No. 3 man in the tight end room.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely to start Week 1
Hill is expected to be Miami's top available tight end in Week 1 against the Colts, as head coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that he doesn't expect Darren Waller to play, per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Waller came out of retirement to claim the top spot on the depth chart, but the veteran hurt his hip and couldn't practice at all in the week leading up to the season opener, leading McDaniel to term Waller doubtful for Week 1. The likely absence of Waller, coupled with the offseason trade that sent Jonnu Smith from Miami to Pittsburgh, clears the path for Hill to play most of the snaps at tight end, as Tanner Conner is the only other healthy alternative at the position on Miami's active roster.
