2024 Fantasy Outlook
Curl emerged from a seventh-round selection in 2020 to being a full-time starter by the close of his rookie contract in Washington. He signed a substantial multi-year deal with the Rams this offseason, helping them completely retool their secondary. He doesn't stand out particularly in any area but is good enough both against the run and the pass to stay on the field on an every-down basis. That shouldn't change on his new team, putting him in a good position to top 100 tackles for the second straight season. Curl lacks the upside of some of his peers due to his lack of proven big-play availability, but he should be a reliable and steady producer. Read Past Outlooks
Back in Thursday's game
Curl (knee) has returned to Thursday night's game against the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
The safety got hurt on the opening drive after making two tackles (one solo). Curl did not miss a defensive snap across the Rams' first six games, and while he won't match that reliability Thursday, his quick return may allow him to come close. The fifth-year pro has 41 tackles (28 solo), two passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 2024.

First-round rookie QB Jayden Daniels may be running for his life behind a porous O-line this season, but his playmaking at least should result in the occasional highlight-worthy play.
As coach Sean McVay and QB Matthew Stafford enter Year 4 together, the Rams have enough firepower to remain a top-tier offense. Ultimately, the defense may dictate how their 2024 campaign unfolds.
A pair of QB trades were overshadowed by the Chargers' decision to ship WR Keenan Allen to the Bears.

Curl has emerged as a stalwart in coordinator Jack Del Rio's defense, filling the box safety role and grading out well both against the run and in coverage. While that hasn't yet resulted in elite production over a full season, he could be on the cusp of breaking out, as he would have recorded 121 tackles last year if he'd been on the field for 1,000 snaps rather than missing five games due to thumb and ankle injuries. The 2020 seventh-round pick heads into the final year of his rookie contract looking to cash in big, either with an extension or in free agency.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Unlikely to be dealt
Curl is a player the Commanders would prefer to re-sign rather than trade ahead of Tuesday's deadline, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The safety is in the final year of his rookie contract after being a seventh-round pick in 2020, but Curl has been a big part of the Washington secondary since his debut and has never recorded fewer than 84 tackles in a season. The Commanders could deal a number of players Tuesday who are on expiring contracts, including pass rushers Chase Young and Montez Sweat, but Curl may not be among them.
